Shrubs in this EZ Scape™

Glitters & Glows shrub with dark blue berries

GLITTERS & GLOWS® Arrowwood Viburnum

Blue Fruit • Compact Habit • Self Pollination

Height: 4-5′
Spread: 4-5′
Zones: 4-8
Primary Season of Interest: Early Summer (flowers)
Secondary Season of Interest: Fall (fruit)
Care Tips: Will perform well in a range of sun exposures – a minimum of four hours of direct light and up to all day sun. Prefers moist, well-draining soil, but will still perform well in a range of soils. Should not be pruned, as it blooms on old wood, which then results in berries.

Sugartina bush with white conical flowers

SUGARTINA® ‘Crystalina’ Summersweet (Clethra)

Native to North America • Fragrant flowers • Dwarf habit

Height: 2.5-3′
Spread: 2.5-3′
Zones: 4-9
Primary Season of Interest: Spring (flowers)
Secondary Season of Interest: Fall (color change)
Care Tips: Will perform well in a range of sun exposures – a minimum of four hours of direct light and up to all day sun. Can even grow in shadier conditions, but won’t give its most robust performance for flowers, fragrance, or fall color change. Adapts to virtually all soils, but truly thrives in acidic, moist, or even wet, conditions. Pruning isn’t necessary, but can be performed in early spring just as new growth appears.

Arctic Fire Red twig bush
ARCTIC FIRE® Red Red-Twig Dogwood (Cornus sericea 'Farrow')

ARCTIC FIRE® Red Red-Twig Dogwood (Cornus sericea 'Farrow')

Native to North America • Compact habit • Deer resistant

Height: 3-5′
Spread: 3-5′
Zones: 2-7
Primary Season of Interest: Winter (stems)
Secondary Season of Interest: Spring (flowers)
Care Tips: Will perform well in a range of sun exposures – a minimum of four hours of direct light and up to all day sun. However, it’s one of the most shade tolerant shrubs. So it can be positioned in less sun and will still grow well, just not quite as robustly as it would with more exposure. Adapts to most soils, but will grow best in moist soils. Pruning is recommended. Stem color is brightest on one and two year old stems, so plan to perform regular rejuvenation prunes.
