GATSBY PINK® Oakleaf Hydrangea (Hydrangea quercifolia)
Native • Very colorful • Shade tolerant
Height: 6 – 8′
Spread: 6 – 8′
Zones: 5-9
Primary Season of Interest: Summer (flowers)
Secondary Season of Interest: Fall (color change)
Care Tips: Will perform well in a range of sun exposures – a minimum of four hours of direct light and up to all day sun. However, it’s the most shade tolerant hydrangea type, so it can be positioned in less sun and will typically still produce a few blooms. Will grow best in moist soils, but not those that remain wet. Pruning is not recommended, as it flowers on old wood.
KODIAK JET BLACK® (Diervilla)
Black Foliage • Bright Yellow Flowers • Native Species
Height: 3 – 4′
Spread: 3 – 4′
Zones: 3-8
Primary Season of Interest: Summer (foliage color)
Secondary Season of Interest: Fall (color change)
Care Tips: Will perform well in a range of sun exposures – a minimum of four hours of direct light and up to all day sun. It’s very shade tolerant, but foliage will not achieve the same depth of color. Adapts to most soils, except those that remain wet. Benefits from periodic rejuvenation pruning.
